Futuristic prostheses for children, inspired by Iron Man

Some time ago we talked about some amazing prosthetic hands for children and today we return with some children's prostheses inspired by Iron Man, so that the little ones feel superheroes.

The idea is to make children with disabilities be able to serve these functional and spectacular prostheses. They have all the necessary functions to reconstruct the natural movement of the ligaments of the hand. The cover is made by a 3D print from a computer design.

But in addition to allowing children to make hand movements, it has some "extras" such as lights or a shield that rises when you open and close your hand (imitating Marvel Comics superhero propellers).

Its creator, Pat Starace, mechanical engineer and designer, has joined E-nabling The Future, a non-profit organization, formed by a heterogeneous group of professionals, family members and parents determined to give children's prostheses a different look.

And, in addition to functionality, Starace's design does not neglect any element to achieve a greater resemblance to the limb of the superhero. For example, on the back of the hand there is a golden shield that rises when you close your hand and gives off inside lights in the form of laser, imitating the superhero's thrusters. In addition, the prototype has a Bluetooth system and a battery with USB input to charge.

The futuristic prosthesis for children inspired by Iron Man It is the first creation of this type that the designer has made and if it finally goes on the market through the support of some institution, it will have an "affordable cost".
