"They go for your children": the transphobic message addressed to parents, now from a plane

The means of transport changes but the transphobic message remains the same. If a few months ago we had the bus against transgender children circulating in the streets, this summer the organization Make Yourself doubles the bet with a plane that will travel along the beaches of the coast of Spain, from Cádiz to Gerona.

The motto that can be seen on a wing of the plane is a direct call to parents: "LGTBI gag law: go for your children". With him they want to alert the parents of "the risks that would imply" if the proposal of law against the discrimination by sexual orientation of lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals and intersex (LGTBI), registered in the Congress of Deputies by Podemos , and which has the support of opposition groups.

"Vulnera the right of parents to educate"

The association affirms that the proposal of law, still pending processing, is a threat to minors, because "it invites them to question their sexual identity from early childhood education by entering their privacy and filling them with ideology."

According to Ignacio Arsuaga, president of Hazte Oír, the campaign aims to raise awareness about "freedom of education" of their children.

"With the pretext of combating discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, the political class has proposed to indoctrinate our children and grant privileges to certain groups above the rights of all," he said.

He also considers that "he gags at citizens who do not share the gender ideology that will be imposed at school."

The humor in the networks

LGTBIphobia Chronology

It all started with a campaign by the Chrysallis Euskal Herri association to raise awareness about the reality of transgender children. His motto was: "There are girls with penis and boys with vulva. It's that simple". "The majority suffer every day because society ignores this reality."

In response, Become Hear launched in February a countercamp consisting of a bus traveled the streets of some cities in Spain with the motto "Boys have a penis. Girls have vulva. Don't be fooled. If you are born a man, you are a man. If you are a woman, you will continue to be so. "But the tour was very short, since the bus was immobilized a few days later. a possible crime of LGTBIphobia.

However, on July 21 a car of the Provincial Court lifted the precautionary ban of driving on the bus invoking a ruling from the Constitutional Court that "freedom of expression includes freedom of criticism." After this victory, they decided to launch the campaign with the plane, more appropriate for the summer months, also aimed at children.

Do we gag as parents?

In reality, no law, let alone one that seeks to recognize the rights of all people, can go against the education that parents give their children at home. In these times, it is important normalize before children that there are people with different sexual orientation and teach them to respect everyone equally.

It is time for the LGTBI group to have greater recognition from society, but there is also a need for greater awareness in schools, since there are many children who suffer bullying because of their sexual condition not accepted by the rest of their classmates.
