Her 50-year-old mother-in-law gestured and gave birth to her baby through surrogacy

For a couple whose greatest desire is to become parents, it is very hard to face the reality of infertility. Kayla Jones, 29, was diagnosed with 17 of a malignant tumor in the uterus, so she had to undergo a partial hysterectomy (removal of part of the uterus). Although he could conceive, his pregnancies did not come to term, so they decided on the option of being parents through surrogacy.

Cody's mother, her husband, was always joking that she would create the baby for her, and after looking for a successful candidate without success, they began to seriously value the proposal. That was how his mother-in-law Patty, 50, managed and gave birth to her baby through surrogacy, a practice not allowed in Spain but legal in other countries such as the United States (not in all states), Russia, Greece and Ukraine.

Kayla shared her story on LoveWhatMatters where she expressed how grateful she is to her mother-in-law for allowing her and her husband to fulfill the dream of being parents.

The pregnancy was normal and on December 30, a very desired and perfectly healthy baby who was called Kross Allen Jones was born by caesarean section.

Although it is not the most common, we have known cases of grandmothers who gestated their own grandchildren through surrogacy, but less usual is still the his mother who carries the baby in his belly.

Needless to say, Kayla and her mother-in-law have a great relationship where generosity and love are above any topic that may exist about daughter-in-law relationships.

"Some people find it 'weird', but if they understood the process, it might not seem so strange," Kayla said.

It is a case of altruistic surrogacy, the one in which the pregnant woman does not receive financial compensation, and that usually occurs when relatives or close friends lend themselves to gestate and give birth to the couple's child who cannot do so due to biological impediments. It is an option that many couples consider due to trust with the person who will carry their baby.

Grandma Patty expresses feeling happy with this experience:

"Recently I had the privilege of doing one of the most rewarding things: take my own grandson for my son and daughter in law. A child is a lifetime commitment and I knew that there were no two people more deserving than the two of them. Seeing them with Kross and seeing the parents who have become fill my soul with emotion. "

However, it was not so easy. After numerous tests, doctors were skeptical enough to accept Cody's mother as a surrogate mother. The first embryo transfer did not work, but the second did. In May 2017 they were finally able to celebrate the pregnancy. Below you can see a video of the emotional moment in which they learn the news.

Surrogacy is a very controversial practice, with opinions of all kinds. Without a doubt, this is one of the most curious stories that we have known for being the mother-in-law who has carried the baby in her womb and for her advanced age as a pregnant mother. What do you think about the story?
