Work is not a children's thing

From day 19 until February 2, 2007, there will be an awareness campaign promoted by Casa América Cataluña and Global Humanitaria, under the motto, “Work is not a children's thing”, An attempt will be made to denounce the exploitation of children that occurs in several countries through different documentaries, photographic exhibitions and reliable information about the current situation of children in these countries.

To initiate the campaign, the coordinator of the Sustainable Development Area of Global Humanitaria, the photographer who has taken the photos of the exhibition and a member of the Observatory of External Debt, will initiate a debate on the causes that promote the development of child labor, as well as the consequences and consequences of children who work from such an early age. Now we remember a documentary broadcast on Television of Catalonia some time ago where they showed us how children from India worked by filling match boxes or tying firecrackers for later sale (children were 5 and 6 years old), they also showed us Pakistani children who sewed balls football, the saddest thing was that rich renowned companies were after that child exploitation.

Returning to the subject, through the exhibition that takes place in Casa América, one can appreciate the magnitude of the problem, perhaps we can not do anything, or maybe if, in any case, for a better understanding of the situation experienced by these children , we recommend going to the exhibition.
