Approved food guarantee fund

More than a year ago we announced in Babies and more than the Spanish Administration was going to guarantee alimony payments in case of divorce in about six months, it has been much longer, but last Friday, December 7 was approved by the Council of Ministers the food guarantee fund.

The parents who have the custody and custody of their children and do not receive the alimony agreed in court resolution by the former couple, will receive a minimum charge from the Food Payment Guarantee Fund. This repayable advance will not exceed 100 euros for each child and will be limited to 18 months.

This new standard will only benefit minor children and those with a disability greater than 65% regardless of age. If the minors are foreigners from any EU country, they must have residence in Spain, the rest of the foreign children will need to have a legal residence in Spain for five years and that their national rights grant similar advances to Spanish citizens in their territory. It also requires a rigorous accreditation of the economic situation of the family with which the child lives, as well as a sentence issued by Spanish courts in which it is also shown that he has not received the alimony from the other parent.

We do not know the deadline to make the request and receive the advance, but they mention that it will be urgent when the applicant is a victim of gender violence or the income of the family unit is less than the amount provided for ordinary recognition.

We think they ask a lot, don't they? How will they claim to the parent that they should spend the pension that covers it? And if they spend eighteen months and again they do not receive the alimony, what will happen to this family?
