Mothers and professionals sharing resources on breastfeeding

The Multilacta Association, in collaboration with the Hospital del Henares, in Coslada, in Madrid, organizes to celebrate Lactation Week, which in Spain the associations usually commemorate at this time, a meeting that they have invited me to and that I want to share with our readers: Meeting of mothers and professionals on breastfeeding support resources.

In our blog we have talked many times about how important it is for mothers to have information and support to achieve a successful breastfeeding and, above all, to respond to their fears and problems.

Health professionals have a fundamental role in this, from the moment of birth and even before, in childbirth preparation courses. Later, the pediatrician and nurses who care for the baby will be of great importance so that the mother can continue with the breast, but this does not always happen.

Breastfeeding support groups create a network of women who offer support, experience and information and, for the benefit of women and their children, collaboration between these associations and health are key, so meetings like this between mothers and professionals They are part of the changes necessary to achieve an adequate breastfeeding rate and to ensure that breastfeeding is normalized and helps those who wish to breastfeed but have difficulty in achieving it.

This meeting between mothers and professionals sharing resources on breastfeeding It will take place next Friday 8 at the Hospital del Henares and will participate in it specialists in all areas of this field, from medicine to support groups and communication.
