Fish sticks with custard

Well, thinking about our Carnival party, in which we are going to disguise ourselves as Doctor Who characters (TARDIS included), we have started to prepare the menu. And of course, it is almost essential to include the dish that the eleventh Doctor shared with Amelia Pond: fish sticks with custard.

Disgusting, you still think. But even young children love that mix, as novel and acceptable as any other dish in our usual kitchen. You have to let them eat with flexibility, with joyful discoveries, allowing them to choose. Creativity in food is something we should not limit.

Actually, combinations of foods and flavors are something very particular and generally cultural. Young children (and the Lords of Time), it seems, do not have such prejudices, and can enjoy strangely combined dishes that others may find very rare.

I encourage you to let the children make their own discoveries, mix flavors and food in an unsuspected way and without receiving judgments for it, while their taste buds are amazed and enjoy how rich the food you really want is. If one day you do fish sticks with custard You will tell me if the children liked it. One thing is for sure, it will be fun.
