What if they fined you for having more than one child?

A few days ago I gave you my reasons for not having a fourth child, speaking that the "couple" seems to be the current ideal, and it turns out that there are countries in which these debates can barely be because they only allow you to have a child.

This is the case, for example, of China, where if you have more than one child you are fined, or where such aberrant things can happen as forcing a seven-month pregnant woman to abort her second child.

Fines for having a second baby

It seems incredible, but it is not. If you have a baby there is no problem, you have already met, you have had the maximum offspring that the country allows so that the population does not increase too much. The problem comes when a couple decides to have a second baby because they simply want to have another child.

The authorities do not allow it and therefore impose a totally arbitrary fine which can range from 5,000 euros, for example, to 164,000 euros. The decision on the amount to be imposed varies according to the city in which you live, the contacts you have, the level of income, etc., that is, that or you try to have “godparents” in high spheres to decrease the amount, or live in those cities where you know that the fine will be lower, or you can pay it dearly.

A woman was forced to abort

It happened on day 2 of this month. Feng Jianmei was visited at his home by the Chinese authorities in Ankang City because he was 22 years old and being pregnant with her second child she would not be able to pay the fine of 40,000 yuan that was imposed on her (about 5,000 euros).

Visiting is a kind way to describe the situation. They took her out blindfolded, made her sign a document that they didn't let her read and he was medicated to give birth to his dead baby. Then they left the baby next to her, took photos and, as can happen in these horrible cases, the photos came to light, creating great stir in social networks, where the measure was criticized in such a way, that three officials involved in the case they have been dismissed, not for what they did, but for when they did it: the law of the country prohibits abortion to fetuses of more than six months.

The officials alleged that everything was done according to the mother and the government explained that it was her business. However, the social pressure and the version of the mother, who explained that she had been held for three days, ended up making the government apologize and finally dismiss the officials involved.

Question of cultures, question of social strata

Seen from here, from Spain, where the problem is that the birth rate is too low seems a really aberrant measure. It may be a matter of cultures, that of "we believe ourselves to be the navel of the world and everything that becomes different seems horrible to us", but still I will never understand the reasons that motivate the prohibition of parents the possibility of having more than one child, if it is what they want.

Anyway, not all the mountain is oregano. If in China you want to see two or more brothers in a school, you only have to approach the private ones. There it is possible because parents can easily raise babies and children. In rural areas, where each mouth of more is considered to mean problems for the population, the measures are much more restrictive and hard.

According to what is said, in these areas, although less and less (hopefully yes), the invitation to abort (with more or less insistence) the second baby has been done for many years. There is even talk about operations to sterilize women without your consent and without your knowledge.

Very strong, right?
